Last May 26, I posted the Ridiculous Burger Challenge. The glory. The prestige. The agony of defeat. The 5 minute challenge was to finish this ridiculous burger with 3 huge hamburger patties, cheese, lettuce.. the works. It was your typical Tuesday night. Hanging out and drinking. At stroke of 12mn we decided to venture out to look for food. Usual behavior after a few bottles of beer. We wanted to check out Jestine's along along Jupiter, near Makati Ave st, right beside McDonald's because they offered a breakfast buffet that starts of at 12. Unfortunately, they were closed - so sad. I then remembered the Ridiculous Challenge - something that I would regret for the rest of the night. So we went straight ahead to check if Avenue Burger along the side of A.Venue Mall, Makati Avenue was still open. To our surprise, it was still open. ASTIG! We were so excited that we were already ordering even before we got inside. The Guard told us that recently an old lady was able to do it. PANIS! That means this will be like a walk in the park for big guys like us. Then... the awakening. See the video below: In the end, Peejay and King was able to conquer the Ridiculous Burger Challenge. They will be remembered in Avenue Burger with their pictures on the winners wall. Me and my brother, left with our tails between our legs - losers. BUT, we shall return. No excuses. They told us that a lot have tried and failed.. but still, no excuses. WE SHALL RETURN. I never imagined that 5 minutes will go by that fast. Imagine that someone was able to finish that monster in 1 minute 45 seconds. Damn! We will give this a break for a week or 2 as we search for new food challenges. So let us know if you have one nearby. Or suggest something to us and we will try to do it. (*wink) By the way, they are open until 1am on weekdays (Monday to Thursday), then Friday to Sunday they are open until 3am. Good deal! One more, if you read this blog and decided to try it out.
